Provo, Utah, May 31, 2016 – Backstage Library Works (www.bslw.com) announced today a seamless transition among staff in its Automation, Metadata, and Administration departments.
Casey Cheney started her career with Backstage in 2003, and has recently moved from Cataloging Project Manager in Backstage’s Metadata Services department to Authority Control Project Manager for Automation Services. Mrs. Cheney began copy and original cataloging in 2004 and has cataloged multiple formats in English, German, Spanish and Russian. She served as Retrospective Conversion Project Manager, Cataloging Project Manager, and Reclassification Project Manager for a total of 9 years. Mrs. Cheney has also participated in Backstage’s NACO training program to allow Backstage to become an independent contributor. She received her PMP certification in December 2015. In her new position, Mrs. Cheney is responsible for managing authority control projects after contracts have been awarded. She works with sales, automation services, and programming teams to ensure that projects are scheduled, set up, and executed according to contract specifications. Mrs. Cheney troubleshoots issues and develops solutions through client interaction. She also maintains authority control and RDA enrichment documentation.
Caity O’Connor began working with Backstage in 2010 and has recently moved from her position as Office Manager to Cataloging Project Manager in Backstage’s Metadata Services department. Mrs. O’Connor worked with the metadata services team in the past, so her career transition is a natural fit. She is trained in NACO and has extensive practice in cataloging software, RDA, AACR2, LC and NLM subject headings and classification schedules. Mrs. O’Connor works with product managers and the sales department pricing projects and creating documentation for project profiles. She hires and trains data technicians, supervises production, and monitors project progress. Mrs. O’Connor also works with team leaders to supervise production staff and acts as a library staff liaison.
Tasha Pianezzola is new to Backstage and has more than 13 years of administrative experience. Ms. Pianezzola has taken the place of Caity O’Connor as Office Manager. She has already become a great asset to the team and is Backstage’s go-to person for office management in Provo.
