BETHLEHEM, Pa., November 26, 2012 — Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD), located in Colorado Springs, is continuing its preservation microfilming efforts in partnership with Backstage Library Works. Now underway, the most recent project includes preservation-level microfilming (35mm) of original source newspapers published in the state of Colorado. The project continues a relationship with Backstage that has extended over three years, covering important and valuable materials housed at PPLD.
“We’re still committed to the long-term security and proven technology offered by preservation microfilming as a means to reformat our regional newspaper titles,” says Dennis Daily, assistant manager of PPLD Special Collections. “Backstage, with their proven track record in preservation microfilming, has been a valuable partner in our efforts to preserve our region’s history for the long haul. Their customer service and quality of work are the best we’ve encountered among preservation microfilming vendors.”
Project consultation, profiling, materials preparation, microfilming, and customer support will be provided by the Preservation Microfilm team in Backstage’s Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, office.
