At the start of July, Backstage Library Works signed an agreement with Califa Group to offer its services at a discounted rate with Califa’s network of over 230 libraries in California. We’re excited to begin new projects with these partners, to bring value with our expertise and, more importantly, develop new relationships.
Califa Group, which was founded in 2004, boasts being the largest library network in California, its membership including “all sizes and types of libraries – academic, research, public, school, corporate, medical, law, and special.” (About Us, Califa.org) The consortium joins in agreements with different preferred vendors and suppliers across the world to offer their members a vetted, reliable list of quality providers. Califa also offers procurement services to further simplify the contract process and assistance with pitching grant projects.
For existing Califa members that have annual contracts with Backstage, the benefits of this partnership will be applied in their next renewal. However, projects with custom pricing may already have a preferred rate that differs from the discount agreement – Backstage will notify members when an alternate pricing supersedes the discount in order to promise the best pricing arrangement. Califa members will enjoy options for authority control processing, image digitization, microfilm scanning & duplication, metadata cataloging & physical processing, and even on-site solutions ranging from inventory review to reclassification and more.
