The Council for Library and Information Resources (CLIR) has announced a competitive grant program for digitizing collections of materials that have a high scholarly research value in libraries and other cultural memory institutions.
Generously funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, CLIR plans to award some $4 million in 2015 through its Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives program. Individual projects can qualify for grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000, and collaborative, multi-institution projects may request up to $500,000. Continue reading
