Virginia Newspaper Project (VNP) Announces the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

The Virginia Newspaper Project (VNP) has recently announced an ongoing project to make the Library of Virginia’s Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) newspapers accessible to the public on Virginia Chronicle. The newspapers were published by the CCC from 1934 to 1941, and provide a view of camp life during the Depression.

The Virginia Newspaper Project recently published an article highlighting the collection:

Backstage Library Works’ digitization operations manager, Kelly Barrall, is proud to have played a part in this collection ever since it was originally photographed for microfilm and microfiche back in the early 1990s.
