How can Backstage Library Works
help in your institution? Exactly what kind of services
does Backstage provide? In response to questions like
these, we are pleased to present the following list
of some recent new projects.
Digitization
The
Mormon History Association (Utah)
BSLW is providing a full range of services for the
Association to digitize 46 volumes of the Journal
of Mormon History.
The material ranges in age from 1974 to the present.
The scanned pages will also have full text conversion,
and the resulting searchable PDF files will be be
loaded to the Association's ContentDM website hosted
by the University of Utah.
The files will also be compiled to a master disk,
which will be available for purchase by Association
members and the general public.

Control
Simon
Fraser University (British Columbia)
BSLW is processing automated authority control for
SFU's catalogue of 185,000 bibliographic records.
Project options include primary matching of names
against the National Library of Canada's authority
files.
Retrospective
Conversion
Lake
Station Community Schools (Indiana)
Public schools in Lake Station, Indiana will be converting
their card catalogs to electronic format, starting
with 9,000 records for the Edison Junior/Senior High
School.
Special
Collections
Society
of Antiquaries of London (Great Britain)
The Society holds a small special collection relating
to stained glass, catalogued in a print list. BSLW
converted the list to MARC format and processed the
records with automated authority control.
Reclassification
Elizabeth
City State University (North Carolina)
The University's G.R. Little Library is reclassifying
their collection from Dewey Decimal Classification
to the Library of Congress Classification scheme.
BSLW will provide reclassification of the records,
spine labels printed with the new LC call numbers,
and the service of relabeling and shifting the collection.

Conversion
College
of Europe (Belgium)
The College Libraries are upgrading their ILS and
required a data migration as well.
BSLW is processing the conversion of the Library's
UNIMARC records to MARC21 format.

Language
Hebrew
College (Massachusetts)
BSLW is providing card catalog conversion for the
Library's Hebrew collection of 30,000 titles. During
the conversion, BSLW will also provide reclassification
services from the collection's current Freidus scheme
to Library of Congress. BSLW will also deliver new
spine and bar code labels for the material.
