Memorial University of Newfoundland’s newspaper digitization project to reach 100,000-image milestone with Backstage

BETHLEHEM, Pa., April 5, 2013 — The Centre for Newfoundland Studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Queen Elizabeth II Library has entered into a new phase of a long-term newspaper digitization project with Backstage Library Works. This phase will increase the digital collection’s size to more than 100,000 images, adding some 28,000 pages to the 93,000 already digitized since the project began in 2010. Continue reading

University of Notre Dame begins digitization project with Backstage

PROVO, Utah, December 10, 2012 — The Hesburgh Libraries at the University of Notre Dame have initiated a project with Backstage Library Works to digitize a collection of Catholic pamphlets from the 19th and 20th centuries. The project includes digitization of an estimated 40,000 pages, comprised of approximately 1,000 bound pamphlets averaging 40 pages each.  Continue reading

Pikes Peak Library District continues preservation microfilming with Backstage

BETHLEHEM, Pa., November 26, 2012 — Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD), located in Colorado Springs, is continuing its preservation microfilming efforts in partnership with Backstage Library Works.  Now underway, the most recent project includes preservation-level microfilming (35mm) of original source newspapers published in the state of Colorado.  The project continues a relationship with Backstage that has extended over three years, covering important and valuable materials housed at PPLD. Cleveland Museum of Art selects Backstage Library Works for CJK cataloging
